John, what is "acer shedding"? The only thing I can think of is "acer" is a plant of some kind that is shedding leaves—hence the bright red stars on the path. I initially thought it may have been referring to a building of some kind (i.e. a shed) but this made no sense in this context.

Ah, just googled the image of the Acer Japanese Maple. What a beautiful looking tree. Now I get it, John. Thanks for introducing me to a plant I have never heard of before. Some of us had difficulty with one of Polona Oblak's haiku about the dreaded "Horse Chestnut". We initially thought the haiku was referring to a chestnut-coloured horse. Then we found out it was referring to a Chestnut tree!

P.S. Nice haiku by the way. ;-)
